Glendurgan GardenGlendurgan Garden is in a wooded valley down which paths wend their way to the tiny hamlet
of Durgan and its small beach. The only building within the garden is the small thatched "school house"
- which looks like a rather elegant rural bus shelter.

The garden was created by Alfred Fox in the 1820s and 1830s for himself and his family and retains the feel
of a private garden rather than a grand exhibition of wealth. The garden boasts a maze - it's not huge but it is fun.
There are larger and grander gardens in Cornwall, particularly the "must see"
Lost Gardens of Heligan.
