Herstmonceux Castle & Science CentreThere are two separate attractions here. The Science Centre was an Astronomical Observarory built in the 1950s when
the Observatory moved from Greenwich. Now it's mainly a place for kids: indoor and outdoor fun machines illustrate
scientific principles. Also a quite interesting tour of the two telescopes.

The castle itself is now a study centre owned by the university of Canada - entry is only by organised tour.
The extensive gardens and woodland walks are the real attraction. On August bank holiday weekend the castle hosts
a spectacular Medieval Festival.
