Lamphey Bishop's Palace PembrokeshireThere's not a huge amount left to see - less than at
Carew Castle
for example - but if you're near Lamphey and want to get an idea how 14th century bishops lived,
or just want a quiet place to wander around, pop in.

There are a couple of places where you can climb to an upper floor, and an expanse of lawn surrounded by the palace walls.
The
Cadw website
has a nice aerial photograph of the palace.
Unsurprisingly, it was Henry VIII who put an end to the bishops' cushy lifestyle.
