Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff RailwayThe Lynton & Lynmouth Cliff Railway is the ultimate in eco-friendly transport - it's water powered.
The car at the top has its water tank filled, the car at the bottom discharges some water,
the brakes are released and off they go.

The beach isn't the reason you'd make the trip down the cliff - it's covered in slate-grey rubble -
but the little town of Lynmouth is nice to stroll around.
Great place for serious walkers too: to the west there's the
Valley of Rocks
and to the east is
Watersmeet
where you can walk for miles up the gorgeous wooded river valley.
