The National Museum of Computing

The National Museum of Computing is on the Bletchley Park site but it's a separate attraction with its own entrance charge. Check opening times before you go: the (reproduction) WWII Colossus is open every day but much of the museum, which is staffed by volunteers, isn't. Colossus was the world's first programmable electronic digital computer and was used to crack codes in the later stages of the war. |next attraction|

The National Museum of Computing

As well as the WWII code-breaking machines, there's a working computer from the 1950s, an IBM 1130 from the 1960s and hundreds of other machines large and small up to the present day - even a little robot that does the Rubik's Cube. If you're interested in computers you could spend days here admiring the kit, playing computer games and chatting to the enthusiasts. If you have any old valves in your attic send them in - Colossus needs them! |map|  |more places to visit|
