Prinknash Abbey

Incongruous sort of a place. The first thing you come to is a wooden pre-fab auction room with cafe and monastic shop attached. Down the hill is a bird and deer zoo. A walk up the hill takes you to a pretty Tudor mansion and chapel. All set in a huge park entry to which is free. There's plenty of space for picnics and walks. |next attraction|

Prinknash Abbey

This eyesore, this blot on the Cotswolds landscape, isn't an insurance company head office it's an Abbey built by the monks in 1972. Its crassness has to be seen to be believed. In 2008 the monks saw sense and moved back to the Tudor mansion. Sadly the eyesore won't be demolished: sold for flats. Clearly there is no God. |map|  |more things to do|
