Stansted House & ParkThis 17th century house was rebuilt in 1901 after a fire and consequently boast mod cons such as a lift.
Only the downstairs rooms and the interesting servant's quarters in the basement are open to the public.

The grounds are laid to grass so there are no ornamental gardens to explore but there are miles of parkland walks.
There's also a garden centre, rather posh cafe, tiny
steam railway,
small maze and the only
Christian chapel
in England with windows bearing Jewish symbolism.
