ClovellyClovelly is a picturesque village strewn up a steep hill from a small harbour.
The village originally earned its crust from fishing and lime kilns.
Since the early 20th century when the village's owner Mrs Hamlyn renovated it, it has thrived on tourism.
Clovelly gets very crowded in the main tourist season.

It's all too easy just to walk down to sea level, have a bite to eat then climb back up to the car park.
But do seek out the house where Charles Kingsley wrote Westward Ho!, the fisherman's cottage
and the two little churches. A film about Clovelly's history shows in the basement of the visitor centre.
